Do you need to keep the children occupied with lots of fun activities? It is difficult to make early plans right now but making some sketchbooks and starting a fun writing or drawing project will fit any travel plan or a fun day at home. When you are out and about, collect leaves and petals; make use of these by drawing them and creating art prints! A simple and fun way to keep the children happy!

Making pressed flowers are the easiest, just place the petals in the book and leave it for a long time. After weeks or months, open the book to see how it has changed!
There are various techniques to make art prints at home. There is no need for equipment; it's simple to follow and suitable for children of all ages.

Leaf Printing
You will need paint, paper, leaves and sponges/brushes.
Apply colour onto the leaf with a sponge or brush. Dampen the sponge or the brush when it gets dry, but don't make it too wet; when it is too wet the leaf pattern will not be clear. Press the leaf on a piece of paper.
Then remove the leaf and you have a leaf print! Experiment with different colours and leaves!

Printing with a stencil
You will need paper, pencils/pens, scissors, paint and sponges/brushes.
To make a stencil, fold paper (any size, can be small A 6) into half, draw a simple shape and cut it out.
Unfold the stencil and place it on top of a piece of paper.
Then, apply paint with a sponge or brush!
Remove the stencil and you have another beautiful print!
It's a really simple and fun activity. Children often get inspired and come up with more ideas to create different designs. You can also create your own greeting cards and bookmarks!
There's so much you can make with just a few blobs of paint and some paper.
I made my art using things I found around the house. Art can be made out of anything!
Make sure to keep on sharing your ideas and artworks with me! I will be sharing simple step-by-step drawing and painting in the summer that will keep up the kids’ creativity, so make sure to keep checking out my blog for updates!
Have a nice summer and Be A C.A.T!
